PE Pipe Fitting


PE pipe fittings are connecting components used with PE pipes to realize functions such as pipeline turning, branching, diameter changing, and sealing in PE piping systems. They are made of the same material as the corresponding PE pipes, ensuring system compatibility and overall performance.


I. Classification


Coupler/Straight Fitting

Used for the straight connection of two sections of PE pipes with the same diameter, serving as the basic fitting for pipeline extension.

Common types: Ordinary straight couplers, extended straight couplers.


Elbow

Enables pipeline turning, classified by angle into 90° elbows and 45° elbows. Special angles can be customized for specific scenarios.

Application: Avoiding obstacles or changing the water flow direction during pipeline laying.


Tee

Equal-diameter tee: The diameter of the main pipe is the same as that of the branch pipe;

Reducing tee: The diameter of the branch pipe is smaller than that of the main pipe.

Used for connecting main pipes and branch pipes to realize pipeline branching.


Flange

Used for connecting PE pipes with metal pipes, valves, or equipment, achieving sealing through bolt fastening. It includes hot-melt flanges, electro-fusion flanges, etc.


Saddle Fitting

Directly opens holes on the laid main pipe for branching without cutting the main pipe, featuring convenient installation. It is suitable for pipeline renovation or adding new branch pipes.


Cap/Plug

Seals the end of the pipeline, including hot-melt caps and threaded plugs.


Valve Matching Fittings

Such as valve connection short pipes, used to connect PE pipes with valves like ball valves and gate valves, ensuring sealing and pressure resistance.


II. Main Characteristics


Material Compatibility: Made of the same material as PE pipes with consistent chemical properties, avoiding corrosion or leakage caused by material differences.

Connection Reliability: After being connected to pipes via hot-melt or electro-fusion, the interface strength is higher than that of the fitting itself, with excellent tensile and impact resistance.

Corrosion Resistance: Resistant to erosion by chemicals such as acids, alkalis, and salts, suitable for municipal, chemical, agricultural, and other scenarios.

Convenient Construction: Lightweight, with simple hot-melt/electro-fusion connection processes, no complex tools required, suitable for field operations or narrow spaces.


III. Application Fields


Municipal Engineering: Connection and branching of urban water supply, drainage, and gas pipeline systems.

Building Water Supply and Drainage: Turning and diameter changing of indoor and outdoor cold and hot water pipelines and floor heating systems.

Agricultural Irrigation: Branching of farmland irrigation pipe networks and connection of drip irrigation systems.

Industrial Field: Connection of pipelines for transporting corrosive fluids in industries such as chemical engineering and mining.

Sewage Treatment: Sealing and turning of sewage collection and transportation pipelines.


IV. Connection Methods


Consistent with PE pipes, there are mainly two types:


Hot-Melt Connection: The connecting surfaces of the fitting and the pipe are heated to a molten state by a hot-melt welding machine, then bonded and cooled to solidify. It is suitable for large-diameter fittings.


Electro-Fusion Connection: The fitting has built-in electric heating wires, which generate heat after being energized to melt and bond the contact surfaces. It is suitable for small-diameter fittings or complex terrains with high connection precision.


As the "joints" of PE piping systems, the quality and adaptability of PE pipe fittings directly affect the safety and stability of the entire pipeline. When selecting, it is necessary to match the corresponding model according to the pipe grade, diameter, pressure rating, and application scenario.
